| More Information
The legacy of Alfred I. duPont created a charitable foundation devoted to providing health care services to children. Today, Nemours is an innovative, multidimensional organization working in conjunction with partners to raise the bar in children’s health. This includes developing a pediatric electronic medical record (EMR) that works seamlessly across multiple locations, allowing Nemours physicians to securely view records and treat patients anywhere.

Coming to Orlando, FL by 2012: Nemours Children’s Hospital and Health Campus
Nemours is building a comprehensive health campus anchored by a state-of-the-art children’s hospital, along with a new Nemours Children’s Clinic, an ambulatory diagnostic center and extensive research and education facilities. The move brings integrated children’s health care and research capabilities to the forefront of the emerging health and science sector of Central Florida. For more information about hospital development go to orlandokids.org.
Nemours Clinical Management Program
To measure clinical care and monitor quality indicators, we develop unique electronic tools that are embedded into the EMR. These tools allow analysis of care which then translates into quality improvement programs.
Research
Nemours Biomedical Research
At the Nemours Center for Childhood Cancer Research and other areas of biomedical and outcomes research, Nemours researchers and clinicians work together to solve the mysteries of a patient’s illness – its cause, therapy and potential cure. Nemours is ranked 14th in the nation for NIH research funding among freestanding children’s hospitals.
Prevention and Intervention
Nemours BrightStart! Dyslexia Initiative
Nemours recognizes that reading failure is a major child health issue that touches all aspects of development: educational, cognitive, emotional and social. The Nemours BrightStart! Dyslexia Initiative addresses this problem, which affects 15% to 20% of all children, through a groundbreaking early screening and intervention program. This successful initiative also serves to increase public awareness about reading and dyslexia, and moves the Nemours legacy of scientific and medical expertise from the clinic to the community.
Nemours Health & Prevention Services - Delaware
Expanding beyond treatment and clinical care, Nemours Health and Prevention Services (NHPS) works hand in hand with the community to emphasize child health promotion and disease prevention in all the places where children spend their time. With more than 200 partner organizations, we are working toward policies and practices that will give our kids the very best chance to grow up healthy – with an emphasis on childhood obesity prevention.
Education
Nemours Center for Children’s Health Media - KidsHealth.org
With more than 170 million visits per year, KidsHealth.org is the world’s most visited Web site for doctor-approved health information for parents, kids and teens.
